Barbro Wedvik is a researcher and paintings conservator NKF-N. She has worked in NIKU since 2005. 

Her field of work includes investigation, conservation, and restoration of paintings on canvas and wood, including distemper paint decorations. She has extensive experience with architectural paint research, and with various technical examination techniques of works of art such as X-rays. In recent years, she has focused her research on painting materials from the first half of the 20th century.  

Wedvik studied art history at the University of Bergen and arts and crafts at Oslo University College before graduating as a painting conservator at the University of Oslo in 2001. In 2003, Wedvik took exams in building conservation at the University College in Sør-Trøndelag.
