Sveinung Krokann Berg is a researcher and human geographer at the Norwegian institute for Cultural History Research.
Berg’s research focus is on valuation of heritage as an environmental and societal good and how existing urban landscapes can contribute to cultural as well as economic development. Identifying the opportunities in this intersection means respecting what already exists, and an openness to how adaptive reuse of existing structures may re-energize inventive activity.
Berg has contributed to a broad specter of research- and development assignments for the Norwegian research council, public management and private employers and has extensive experience from planning processes and various development projects.
