Anne Braun is a trained conservator from Fachhochschule Potsdam (Germany), and since graduating in 2011 she has run her own conservation and restoration business in northern Germany and Sweden. Anne has worked in particular with murals and multi-coloured architectural surfaces, specialising in wall paintings from the Middle Ages. She has also worked extensively with distempera and various mineral objects in stone, brick, stucco and terracotta. 

In 2018 and until she came to NIKU in 2022, she was employed as a contract conservator at Västernorrland County Museum in Sweden, where she also worked with the conservation and theft protection of medieval sculptures, with rune stones and paintings. 

Anne performs preliminary investigations, condition assessments and conservation.
