Lars Morten Fuglevik is a researcher in the Department of Archaeology and has been working at NIKU Oslo since 2016. His primary areas of focus include medieval food culture, early urbanization in Norway, and archaeological theory and methodology.

Fuglevik has expertise in all archaeological find categories from medieval towns and possesses specialised knowledge in ceramics. In addition to his research, he is involved in cataloguing/databases, preventive conservation, collections management, as well as conducting X-ray and XRF analyses.

Furthermore, Fuglevik has extensive and diverse experience in excavations and museum work at the Museum of Cultural History and the National Museum of Art, Architecture, and Design.

Education:

  • PhD in Archaeology from the University of Oslo
  • Master’s degree (cand. philol.) in Archaeology from the University of Oslo
  • Additional education in archival studies at OsloMet, as well as studies in case processing and administrative work at Kristiania University College and Volda University College
