Line Hovd is an archaeologist and has been employed by NIKU since 2015. Hovd has an MA in archaeology from the University of Oslo, and her range of subjects includes cultural history.

Hovd works mainly with archaeological excavation projects in the medieval towns of Oslo, Hamar and Stavanger. In addition, Hovd conducts environmental monitoring projects in medieval urban areas.

Hovd has experience from archaeological projects at the Museum of Cultural History and several of NIKU projects connected to the Follo Line excavations in Oslo. Her field experience varies from excavations of Mesolithic and Iron Age sites to outfield archaeology and urban medieval sites. During her work she has developed expertise in digital archaeological surveying and digital documentation.
