Maja spent 4 years at the University of Edinburgh, and has recently graduated with an honours degree in Archaeology. 

After handing in her dissertation, she was hired as a field archaeologist at the Arctic Univeristy of Tromsø, on the project “the Whale”. Previous experience include a Mesolithic excavation in Romania in 2018. 

During her studies, she focused on public archaeology and archaeological outreach, as well as osteoarchaeology. Primarily, her academic interests include bioarchaeology and osteobiographies, and wrote her dissertation on the care of individuals inflicted with leprosy in Medieval Dublin. 

Currently, she is working as a field archaeologist at “Middelalderparken” in Oslo’s Old Town.
