Evaluation of Projects under the Craftsmanship Initiative

Effect evaluation of three projects supported by The Savings Bank Foundation DNB in the initiative Craftsmanship Initiative.

Interviews with young, newly graduated traditional craftsmen who participated in the projects, as well as the organizers, have provided answers to questions about the projects’ significance for recruitment and professional networks, their effects, and the young craftsmen’s wishes for further support.

A key finding is that young craftsmen are the best at inspiring other young people. Therefore, a conclusion is that supporting young practicing craftsmen can effectively help inform, inspire, and motivate other children and young people to choose traditional crafts.

The main recommendation is to give the young practitioners space and resources to showcase their craft and pass it on to other children and young people.
